… the moment somebody said to me: ‚It’s time to get back to your ‚normal‘ life’, I knew my days in the office were over and the goal of becoming a Digital Nomad came to life.
Nice to meet you guys! My name is Nicolas and for the last 4 years I’ve been a Digital Nomad. In this time, I’ve travelled to more than 30 countries, made countless unforgettable memories and at the same time built up my own Performance Marketing Agency Cool Ice Creatives.
A lot of people on Instagram kept asking me how I could afford this lifestyle and make it work long-term.
It was clear: the answer wouldn’t fit into a quick story or a few sentences. That’s when the idea for PARADISED was born - my personal blueprint to help others break free and step-by-step build a life of freedom through remote work.
My Story
My friend Chris sat down with me to talk about my story: what motivated me to become a Digital Nomad, how it all started, the ups and downs along the way, and why I created PARADISED. Watch the full interview now and get the behind-the-scenes of my journey.
What PARADISED really means
Maybe some of you know the movie The Beach with Leonardo DiCaprio. I think it’s from the late ’90s. In the film, Richard – in peak travel mode – backpacks through Thailand and stumbles upon a hidden community living on a paradise island somewhere in the Indian Ocean. (The actual place is Koh Phi Phi, for those of you curious to visit.)
Life in this secret paradise seems perfect… until things fall apart and the tribe dissolves. Richard eventually returns to his “normal” life- back in an office, surrounded by dull routines and boring colleagues. Then one day, he receives an email from Françoise, his former romance on the island. It’s a photo of the tribe – smiling, mid-air, jumping on the beach.
While he looks at the picture, Richard reflects out loud. A quote that was stuck to my mind since then.
And me? I still believe in paradise. But now at least I know it’s not some place you can look for. Because it’s not where you go. It’s how you feel for a moment in your life when you’re a part of something. And if you find that moment… It lasts forever.
I watched the movie shortly after I found one of those moments:
At Nacpan Beach, close to El Nido in the Philippines, I found my own moment of paradise. In a group of backpackers, remote workers, and travelers, we stayed five days in a secluded hostel at an incredible beach and just had the time of our lives.
At that time, my idea of living while traveling was born — of making my passion my lifestyle. That becoming a Digital Nomad would be the outcome wasn’t yet the plan, but the idea of not just visiting paradisal places, but staying, remaining in a moment, a state of paradise, was born.

What’s the motivation behind PARADISED?
After I became a Digital Nomad my life radically changed and I came my personal goal of being PARADISED a lot closer I was happier than ever before and the day, that I left my normal life, almost felt like the date of being a reborn for me. It was not an easy way, but I think it was by far not impossible. Since the second year of being a Digital Nomad I wanted to make this possible for others, that also dream of living traveling. And I’m pretty sure, this is true for you as well!
Since the biggest problem for most of you is not knowing where to start or where to go – I created a step-by-step guide in the form of an online course that offers an accessible and easy-to-follow solution.
PARADISED, both my story and the online course, should motivate you to take the first step toward realizing your dream, take you by the hand, and get you there as quickly and smoothly as possible.

Traveling has always been my passion. On a backpacking trip through Asia in early 2019, I realized that a „normal“ life working in an office would never be fulfilling for me. In 2020, I first connected with Digital Nomads and realized that this was the lifestyle I was aiming for. I just had to find something that would enable me to achieve this absolute freedom in terms of time, place, and means.
In 2020, during Covid, I founded my Digital Marketing Agency, „Cool Ice Creatives.“ Although the company wasn’t doing great initially, I made the big step to cancel my apartment and break all ties with my former home in Germany to dive into my new adventurous life as a Digital Nomad. On the 15th of April 2021, I booked my one-way ticket to Mexico and never came back. Easily the best decision I have ever made. As if it was meant to be, once I stepped into the Nomad life, my company suddenly found success. Over the last three years, it has grown from barely covering my expenses to a six-figure online business, with me evolving from a freelancer to a true online entrepreneur, from a suited office guy to a global citizen.
Since then, many people have asked me through my social media how I’m able to afford this constant traveling and living in places where they usually go on vacation. I realized that this question could never be easily answered. There are too many things to consider and too many lessons I’ve learned that can’t be summed up in just a few sentences. That’s how the idea of Paradised was born: an extensive step-by-step guide that explains the concept of being a Digital Nomad, its benefits, and how to succeed in this lifestyle. Over three years, I gathered insights and resources from fellow nomads and combined them with my own experiences to deliver the best start to your Digital Nomad life in the form of an online course. My motivation: enabling others to escape their 9-to-5 unhappiness and fulfill themselves in the free life of a Digital Nomad. It’s something that everybody can do; it’s not impossible at all, but it becomes much easier if you have guidance from the start.
I mainly live around Latin American countries, with Brazil being my favorite place because of the welcoming and warm culture, the good parties, the food, and the beautiful beaches. As the CEO of my digital marketing agency, I work around 30 hours per week. It has always been important to me to balance traveling and working, ensuring there is enough time to engage in both. In my free time, I like to take photos, fly my drone, or go hiking. PARADISED is an absolute passion project for me. Doing what you love – traveling – be possible for everybody without restrictions. The PARADISED course is a great start that will help you avoid many of the mistakes I made in the past and will allow you to start your Digital Nomad life as smoothly as possible.
